A Christmas tree is a decorated tree traditionally associated with the celebration of Christmas.  The evergreen tree can be a spruce, pine or fir tree.  The first tree was slightly different that the tree we see today.  The first tree was decorated with things that could be eaten such as apples, nuts or dates.  In the 18th century, it began to be illuminated by candles, which were eventually replaced by Christmas lights.  Today there are a variety of traditional ornaments such as candy canes, hand crafted ornaments, garland, tinsel and an angel or star at the top of the tree.  Christmas trees have changed throughout the centuries.  One thing remains the same, that a Christmas tree is a symbol of celebration.  We at Homeland Realty Group hope your start of the Christmas season is full of joy and fun as you decorate your Christmas tree.  Merry Christmas from our family to yours!!
